Waterhouses First Responders

Registered Charity Number 1113291

Waterhouses Community First Responder groups consist of volunteers from the local community. All the volunteers live and work in the local area. They are trained to respond to emergency calls through the 999 system in conjunction with the Ambulance Service. Waterhouses Community First Responders provide immediate care to patients in their local areas where distance may delay the prompt arrival of an ambulance.

All CFR schemes are designed to be financially self-supporting, although the Ambulance Service will provide all necessary support and training, each scheme is expected to raise the necessary funding required to purchase their equipment and vehicle, and pay for training, from within the community they are serving. The cost of providing this is initially £40,000 with an annual running cost of £10,000+ per annum The running costs cover training, replacement of safety clothing and purchase of equipment.

There are several ways in which you can help your local Waterhouses Community First Responders, you could join them and do your training or help with fund raising.

The Waterhouses Community First Responder is a person who gives their time freely for the good of the community, many have full time occupations and families, hobbies and interests, but on receiving a call they respond immediately.
